Hope, Health & Harmony

Hope, Health & Harmony is a community-centered wellness event designed to promote mental health awareness, cultural diversity, and holistic well-being. Hosted at the Roosevelt-Walker Community Center in Santa Ana, CA, this family-friendly event brings together collaborative partners—including U.S. Vets, Latino Health Access, OC Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA), and Access to Prevention Advocacy and Treatment (APAIT)—to support veterans, the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. The event is a key initiative of the OC Mental Health and Wellbeing Promotion for Diverse Communities project.

Through interactive demonstrations, cultural resource booths, and wellness activities, Hope, Health & Harmony fosters community connections, enhances mental health literacy, and celebrates cultural diversity for all. This year’s event emphasizes the mental health and wellness benefits of community connection, good nutrition, and holistic wellness practices and hopes to attract the diverse families throughout Orange County.

Thematic Focus Areas for the Demonstrations:

· Cultivating Calm: Discover the mental health benefits of gardening through hands-on experiences. Learn about composting, planting basics, and connecting with the earth to reduce stress and enhance well-being.

· Nourishing Minds: Explore how good nutrition supports mental wellness, featuring organic produce and foods native to diverse cultures. Learn about the connection between a nutrient-rich diet and emotional resilience.

· Rooted in Balance: Experience the power of mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga to support emotional wellness. Practice intentional strategies to cultivate inner peace and resilience.

Event Flow & Experiential Overview: Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in three concurrent thematic sessions, each focused on a different aspect of wellness. The event will begin with a 30-minute check-in and orientation, followed by interactive presentations in each of the three categories. Participants will transition between sessions to experience multiple aspects of wellness throughout the evening. The event will conclude with a final 45-minute session and a 15-minute wrap-up and closing.
